New Deal Provider Contracts

An insight into New Deal and New Deal Providers

www.newdealcontracts.co.uk is a website that gives you an insight into the workings of the New Deal by allowing you, jobseekers and taxpayers the ability to review the New Deal Contract. The New Deal contract displayed on www.newdealcontracts.co.uk is a Multi-Programme contract and it can be assumed that all New Deal Providers (including A4e, Working Links and TNG) have an identical contract to this YMCA Training contract although the Schedules will differ.

    Leslie Bailey says:

My New Deal grief is not getting fares refunded from New Deal courses, although, on the first (a 13 week IAP course), they tried to chop my refund up into seven days and not refund me for the sunday etc. In the end I got no refund at all. The railway who supplied the ticket also pointed out that you only pay for the Monday-Friday portion of this ticket and got the Saturday & Sundays for free.
I was put into another 13 week IAP course, but was refused the refund (a weekly bus pass) because I did not have a New Deal travel pass. I pointed out this was not obligatory, but they would not budge, this despite a Jobcentre plus main office in Sheffield, and the DWP screaming at them to pay me as the new deal pass was not obligatory. The local jobcentre was giving the course provider permission not to pay me (this was happening all over S. E. London).
Now I’m on a New Deal gateway 2-week course and the fares are paid, but no £15 (it was paid the first time 2 years ago, but not now), despite the jobcentre telling the claimants we will get £3 per day for being away from home all this time (9:30-16:30 5 days a week).
The scheme providor is sub-contracted to those who refused to refund my fares above (2 years ago they were independent).
I am being forced to use the high court just to get a rulling as to wether the JCP is still responsible for us while on these new deal schemes. After all, the local JCP advisers were telling me I should NOT get my fares refunded, and gave permission for them not to pay me. Now they tell me I will get £3 per day (£15 per week) for “being kept away from home all day” (9:30am to 4:30pm). We are just as much on a scheme as those on 13 week ones who are getting the £15 per week (actually they get £15 per week).
