A new year, a new decade, a new hope. As we enter 2010 we are in the final weeks of New Labour. This wounded animal will continue to stagger from crisis to crisis for a little longer, then come the general election it will be slaughtered with no mercy shown. I will not lament its passing. It has been a spiteful, vindictive, hypocritical, treacherous beast, and if there is an afterlife, it will rot in the fires of hell, waiting for its real creator – Thatcher.
For the new decade I hope the general election will produce MPs who have integrity and put their constituents first, rather than the arrogant, corrupt, self-serving hypocrites we have had as far back as I can remember. I also hope to see massive job creation by us becoming as self sufficient as possible and by selective exclusion of foreign imports. I would also like us to have a referendum as to whether we want to continue to be a part of an increasingly authoritarian EU super-state. The Job Centres should be just that – centres where you look for a job – nothing else, and certainly not the spiteful, unhelpful places which treat people appallingly. The Jobseekers Act and New Deal should be abolished on the grounds of cost, if nothing else. The funding should also be withdrawn from the private training companies who have benefited massively from the tax payer, whilst offering such a poor product
I would also like to see our withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan and an acceptance that we have no more right to invade foreign countries to impose our ideology on them than foreigners have a right to come to our country and impose their beliefs on us. I would also hope that Blair is put on trial for war crimes and the bankers are made to pay for their folly by being sacked and stripped of their assets.
We are at the crossroads. In a few weeks time we will have the general election. If you vote for Labour or Conservative, don’t be disappointed if you get more of the same. I would suggest that you only vote for a party if you want them, not to stop another party that you want even less. If there isn’t one you want, either spoil the ballot paper by writing ‘None of the above’ or not voting at all. The future is in your hands, don’t waste your opportunity to influence it.
All the best to you and yours.

Blackpool lad, you are spot on my son, I’m at a course doing this waste of taxpayer money and am disgusted at the way people at cdg are treated, there are 50 people in a room, its gota be a breach of health and safety! Being constantly patronised by a staff of people who are there just for the paycheck. Everybody feels the same way as me here. I hate the government and their xenophobic philosophies!
