This is just a post on Jobcentre Plus’ constant misbehaviour of accusing its “customers” (claimants) of acting in a way different to the actual events – unsubstantiated without evidence and even have the allegiance, endurance and persistance to uphold such false allegations when the claimant has evidence to prove otherwise!

As I came across a post on the internet about it and although I have already highlighted the problem in a past post I have decided to highlight this again as it is a HUGE problem.

A problem that I have experienced on many occasions both from Jobcentre Plus and by such influence on my New Deal Provider. I have also complained to the Jobcentre Plus District Manager whom himself was only happy enough to make a false counterclaim with incriminating allegations!!

On all occassions I had evidence but this didn’t mean Jobcentre Plus would step down and drop such false accusations. Even at my Tribunal such allegations were existent – the Tribunal Judge wasn’t interested in the evidence to disprove such claims. This is why Jobcentre Plus actively do this so much…

Anyway, the following was from Yahoo Answers by someone called Nigel G:

Should the JobCentre withdraw claims that I was abusive if they have no evidence to support it?

They claim I was abusive on the phone and that they terminated a call with me

In fact the opposite is true. I hung up on their member of staff in desperation as a result of her appalling attitude. (I assume it is this call that they are referring to, although they haven’t even told me which call their allegations relate to).

They only brought up this allegation months later after I finally made an official complaint about them. I haven’t been told what I did that could be considered abusive. They appear to agree that I didn’t shout or swear or insult anyone. I complained to the office manager and he claims that they didn’t record the call and he can’t explain to me in what way I was abusive… only that my “behaviour was unacceptable” and that he is glad I realise that I will modify my behaviour in future (I won’t… because I don’t know what was wrong with my behaviour!).

It’s pretty obvious to me that this false allegation was invented to cover their own backs after months of mistakes at every step of my claim.

How can I get them to formally withdraw this false claim?

In this case, it is his word against theirs with Jobcentre Plus not having evidence to prove such a claim, however, in this case the claimant hasn’t got evidence to back up his story and such allegations although false and against human rights, being libelous and slanderous (“defamation”) in nature, are rather minor. This doesn’t dilute the relevance though it just proves it is a widespread problem that is practiced by all levels of Jobcentre Plus staff from Advisers to Managers.

In this case it isn’t possible to have the allegation formally withdrawn and court action would be inappropriate (the judge would probably just throw out the case, as although it is libel/slander s/he would see it as a waste of his/her time). It is just a case of put up with it and leave it.

Make sure formal complaints are written to District Manager who wont do nothing about it but if they follow the rules it should be added to the statistics – so the concept of complaints increasing by 40% for example would likely make its way to Westminster as a concern.

If you are victim to such allegations, please leave us a comment explaining what happened! Thank you.

i totally agree with what u hav just stated, this has just happened to me because i complained about a member of staff and that the help i should be receiving is never available or theydon’t know what i’m talking about. i’m over 50 with health problems, i’m now left with no money although i have sent a complaint to the district manager, i’ve been unemployed for 1 year and the help is no where to be seen.

as i am over 50 i have now decided to get age concern involved and a copy of my complaint will also got the public accounts commitee.

There has to be an independent body for us to complain to, and not let them stop benefits as a way of punishment as this is exactly what t is, . They should also be sacked for the lies they are allowed to get away with.

    regards

This is the norm It happened to me at ST james street office in london and when I went to the head and made a valid complaint i then found out that the staff at this office made up LIES about me and it was going to be kept on file and in fact it was only when I got a letter from a lawyer after I told them that I would take legel action..
My advice is simple, bringa recorder with you and tape everything and if and when they make up lies you can then bring up a copy of the recording at the last minute then sue them via the courts.
